First Accident On New Motorway FROM OUR CORRESPONDENT . RUGBY, blpv. 4 In the first accident on the new Birming- ham-London motorway, two London men were slightly injured this mcrning. They are Colin Caplan, aged 36. of Bigginhall Mansions, Baker Street, W., and Isaac Bershon, aged 41, of Commercial Road, Stepney, E.. who were travelling:.north in a car which ran on the verge at 'Watford Gat near here. The mishap occurred soon after the vehicle had passed from three traffic lanes cn the Ml to the two lanes on M45. and it is understood that botb lanes, were momentarily occupied by lorries., Both men were detained in Rugby Hospiltal with shock and superficial injuries. The Ministry of Transport said yesterday that the Minister had received a further report from the motorway police ont traffic on the motorway which showed that during the 24 hours ended 10.30 a.m. yesterday about 20.000 vehicles used the mokorway. Lane discipline was very much improved compared with the first morning. FIRST ACCIDENT ON NEW MOTORWAY'
