Polish Left-Wing Relations FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT WARSAW, MARCH 4 While indicating that an eventual fusion of Polish Socialists and Communists into a single party was probable, Mr. Stanislaw Szwalbe, deputy Speaker of the Polish Seym and a leading member of the execu- tive council of the Polish Socialist Party, declared at a Press conference to-day that the time for the merger was not yet and that in the meantime his party would con- tinue to maintain its independence. The trial begah yesterday at the regional military court here of eight members of the Polish underground accused of having been agents of General Anders in Poland. Among them are Mr. Witold Pilecki and Mrs. Maria Szelagowska, who are alleged to have come to Poland from England with instructions and money from General Anders to organize a spying net and to enter into contact with illegal opposition groups, including right-wing Socialists. The trial is expected to last about a week. POLISH LEFT-WING RELATIONS NO FUSION AS YET
