The Wooster Chin TO THE EDITOR OF THE TIMES Sir,-Mr. Wodehouse may not have meant to wound, but his references to the ichthyoidal characteristics of the Woosters are liable to give pain. There is nothing necessaiily derogatory in resembling a fish; it all depends on the fish. For example, while a fried whiting may lack dignity, a boiled salmon has natural grace and repose. Nor are all fish opisthognathous, as Mr. Wodehouse seems to suggest; fish with very masterful, indeed aggressive, chins are to be seen in any aquarium. In any case, all this public discussion of purely physical characteristics is very painful to the Woosters (a proud family), and to their many friends. The Wooster face may have its defects, but is it necessary to wash it in public ? Yours indignantly, I Rhodes House, Oxford, Dec. 1. C. K. ALLEN. THE WOOSTER CHIN
