Mrs. Agatha Christie. Colonel and. Mrs. Christie remained yester- day at Abney Hall, Cheadle, to which place they travelled on Wednesday from Harrogate, where the woman had been living. Colonel Christie made the following statement to a Press representative: - "My wife is extremely ill, suffering from complete loss of memory. Three years have dropp.ed out of her, life. She cannot recal anything that has happened duling that period. The fact that she lives at' Sunnimgdale has no significanice for her, and she does not seem to realize tl,at her home is at The Styles. As to what has happened since she left there her mind is a complete blank. She has not the slightest recollection of going to Newlands Corner or of proceeding eventually to Harro- gate. As was only to be expected, she is very much upset as the result of the journey yester- day, and has no idea what aU the fuss is about. She now knowvs who I am, and has also realiied that Mrs. Watts is her sister. It is somewhat remarkable that she does not know she has a daughter. In this connexion, when she was shown a picture of herself and Rosalind, her little daughter, she asked who the child was, ' What is the child like ? I' and 'How'old is she ? ' "' My wife has been seen to-day by a local doctor, and this afternoon a specialist is coming over from Manchester for a further consultation. I tell you this in order that you will respect my feelings and not worry the specialist or myself. All the worry has been terrible, and all we want now is peace and quietness. I have been offered rzoo to tell how my wife came to llarrogate. I do not know, and she cannot tell me." MRS. AGATHA CHRISTIE. HUSBAND'S STATEMENT.
