Complete Victory In Darfur. The Secretary of the IVar Office makc8 tile following announcement:- The completeness of the victory over the Sul- tan of Darfur on May 22 is confirmed by a further telegram from the Sirdar. It appears that all the Sultan's best troops and commanders were present, and most of the latter were accounted for or have since surrendered. Disarmament of the tribesmen is proceeding satisfactorily and several thousand rifles and a large quantity of ammunition have already been handed in. On the morning following the battle our aero- planes threw bombs on a large body of men flee- ing froril Fasher with Ali Dinar. The latter, when last seen, had a following of only 300 persons and was faced by a journey of one and a half days across waterless desert before he could reach Gebel Marra. *.* The Gebel Marra is an extensive mountain range to the south-west of El Fasher, and some of its heights rise to over 6,000ft. Much of the country both east and west of it is desert. The Gebol itself is fairly fertile and is one of the strongholds of the For-the tribe which gives its name to Darfur.
